Welcome to our page

St Helens Park Public School was opened in 1994 and has a current enrolment of 420. Our school challenges children to determine their own future.

Staff work as collaborative teams focussing on catering to difference through explicit teaching, creative grouping and targeted support.

Our school is committed to providing a supportive, well-managed learning environment where clear expectations of behaviours are articulated and where students are recognised and acknowledged as safe, respectful learners.

St Helens Park Public School serves a diverse community with dedicated, committed staff and a devoted parent group. The school has been delivering quality public education for 30 years and as a growing area, our school community continues to develop and shape.

I feel privileged and honoured to be a part of this strong and supportive school community. A community that pursues excellence in teaching and learning while nurturing the social and emotional needs of students, to support them to become confident and resilient individuals.

We pride ourselves in providing a school with a warm, safe, supportive, and happy environment where students feel welcome and are cared for. Our aim is to provide opportunities that extend and challenge every student to reach their potential and beyond in their personal, social and academic successes.

At St Helens Park Public School there are over 375 students enrolled from Kindergarten to Year 6, including three support classes for students with additional needs. Our school values the opportunities we can provide our students in a variety of endeavours, including academic achievement, the performing arts, sporting opportunities, wellbeing programs and leadership pathways.

St Helens Park Public School is situated on Dharawal land, and the school recognises the traditional custodians of the land and the diversity within our community. We value the collaboration between all members of our school community and always strive to provide a trusting and secure environment. Approximately 40% of our community come from a language background other than English with over 25 cultural groups represented.

All students within the school are encouraged to be at school, to learn and to give their best. This is underpinned by our core values of being a safe, respectful learner and our learning dispositions of open mindedness, curiosity, resilience, problem solving, creativity and reflection.

St Helens Park Public School has a highly dedicated staff, with diverse teaching experience, who strive for high standards in teaching and learning by continually improving their own professional knowledge and expertise to ensure students are provided with a high-quality education. Our passion for excellence is a driving force every day. We focus on providing a school that is collaborative and inclusive, maintaining whole school approaches to engage and improve student learning. Teachers work across four stage teams, led by Assistant Principals to create teaching and learning programs that provide a range of learning opportunities carefully designed to meet the needs of each student across the curriculum. We have a highly motivated and active P&C Association whose contributions benefit our students. The P&C warmly welcome any new members and volunteers.

I am extremely proud to be Principal of St Helens Park Public School and I lead the school alongside committed, professional staff, courteous students and positive parents. We continue to aim to have a growth mindset and put students at the centre of our decision making. I would like to acknowledge the dedicated work of the executive team who partner in leading this great school. Working in partnership with you for your child’s education is paramount to achieving the success we pursue. I warmly invite you to pursue our website and I welcome any feedback. If you would like to visit our school, please contact the school office and I would be delighted to give you a tour of our wonderful school.

I hope you might join us at St Helens Park Public School and be part of a wonderful growing community!

Our school uniform is more than just attire; it symbolises a sense of unity and pride within our school community. Wearing it instills a sense of belonging and shared identity among students, fostering a spirit of camaraderie.

The uniform reflects the high expectations we hold for ourselves and it serves as a visual representation of our commitment to excellence and discipline, creating a positive atmosphere conducive to learning.

As we proudly wear our uniform, we not only adhere to a dress code but embrace a collective responsibility to uphold the values and reputation of our school within the broader community.

Our state of the art library gives the community and the students access to the latest resources.
Daily classes are held in this environment to nurture and develop the future leaders of our community.

School Bytes is a program making it quicker and easier for parents to receive correspondence, statements and reminders, and access a secure payment gateway. Families are also able to receive excursion notes, information about events and make payments via this platform.

Upon enrolment at our school we would like all our families to follow the link School Bytes Parent Portal and register your email in the parent portal, using the same email that was completed on the enrolment forms for your child.

We also recommend to download the School Bytes app to your mobile device and take the time to navigate around it as it's a great tool for our families to use.

The SHPPS Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association is a group consisting of parents and citizens, whose purpose is to assist the school and promote the interests of the entire school community.

They consult with the parent community, students, and school staff to identify the main needs of our school, and plan accordingly how best to meet those needs. They work in close partnership with our school to achieve the best possible outcomes for our students and other stakeholders in the school community.

We thank them for all the hard work day in and day out to give the school, students the best resources possible.

At SHPPS we provide Before and After school care services.
Will update this page further with information.
